CHARITA R · APPLIED AI SPECIALIST AT IBM
For 12 years, I have followed engineering problems across their boundaries—from web, backend, servers, and data to deliberately developed iOS expertise, platform ownership, and an emerging Applied AI practice.
WEB · BACKEND · SERVERS · DATA
I began by building complete applications—interfaces, Drupal and PHP services, APIs, servers, and database-backed workflows. That foundation still shapes how I reason about every client experience.
Reliable products come from understanding how the layers move together.
Aditya Birla businesses · Customer feedback platform
Building feedback-capture systems across native iOS, web services, servers, and database-backed workflows for a multi-brand enterprise context.
Context: Mission Happiness is a feedback and customer-centricity initiative spanning lifestyle brands and customer touchpoints including stores, SMS, websites, e-commerce, delivery, refunds, and post-purchase experiences.
Support consistent customer-feedback capture and complaint-resolution workflows across Aditya Birla business contexts and customer touchpoints.
Worked end to end—from customer and delivery requirements through native iOS applications, Drupal and PHP services, database-backed workflows, schedules, team guidance, and release decisions.
Combined native Objective-C applications with server-side Drupal and PHP REST capabilities, including work on the Mission Happiness Van Heusen application.
Delivered native iOS applications together with Drupal/PHP portal and service workflows for feedback capture and complaint resolution across Aditya Birla Group business contexts. The work connected customer-facing touchpoints with the operational portal used to review and act on feedback.
DELIBERATE SPECIALISATION
Objective-C became Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and Combine. The technologies changed; the systems view stayed. I learned to see the mobile client as one participant in a larger product.
APPLICATION → PLATFORM
My scope moved beyond screens into journeys, authentication, payments, live state, host contracts, dependency ownership, diagnostics, and production release readiness.
Maruti Suzuki India · EV charging platform
Establishing the iOS foundation for dependable EV discovery, booking, payment, and live-charging journeys.
Build a customer-facing iOS experience that brings EV charging discovery, booking, payment, and live-session visibility into one coherent product.
Established the initial SwiftUI and Combine architecture, built core components before the team expanded, and now lead the iOS team through design, planning, reviews, and release readiness.
Organized the client around journey boundaries and integrated AWS AppSync, Adobe AEP, Firebase, Google Maps, Razorpay, secure REST services, token refresh, and SSL pinning.
Supported eight iOS releases on a two-to-three-month cadence, with 99.7%-99.95% crash-free users and sessions over approximately nine months and a 4.6/5 App Store rating.
Native iOS SDK · React Native host integration
Turning a standalone EV application into a reusable binary SDK with an explicit contract between native journeys and the host app.
Make core native EV journeys available inside Maruti Suzuki’s React Native super app without coupling the host to the standalone application’s internals.
Designed the interface and integration architecture, modularized the original application, extracted reusable capabilities, and owned the public iOS SDK boundary.
Used a binary XCFramework boundary, made host and SDK responsibilities explicit, resolved Google Maps dependency ownership, and introduced asynchronous token handling so delayed authentication would not block the host screen.
Produced a reusable native delivery model for EV journeys with clearer dependency, lifecycle, authentication, and error-handling responsibilities.
Four different boundaries—a shared dependency, a trust handoff, a user's intent, a shipped build—same discipline each time: name who owns the ambiguity before it becomes a production bug.
Resolve shared-library ownership at the SDK boundary, as with Google Maps, and make supported versions and upgrade responsibility explicit.
A blocking login call freezes the host screen on slow networks. Asynchronous token handling lets the host render first, treating 'not yet authenticated' as expected—not a stall to recover from.
Rapid repeated taps were turning into duplicate booking and payment calls. Traced jointly with backend and QA, the fix added interaction safeguards, then reinforced them with monitoring and release checks.
A build ships only when diagnostics, QA evidence, and dependency compatibility all agree—not when one stakeholder says so. That call needed one accountable owner, not shared, diffuse responsibility.
TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP
I remain hands-on while guiding architecture, mentoring engineers, reviewing implementation, supporting hiring, and coordinating release readiness across teams and stakeholders.
Customer requirements · schedules · resource planning · team guidance · hands-on delivery
Architecture · mentoring · reviews · cross-team integration · production readiness
Recognition from senior colleagues, project managers, and the account partner.
Current role combining Applied AI specialization with hands-on mobile-platform leadership: iOS architecture, SDK design, production reliability, release ownership, and cross-team integration.
Delivered Flutter employee applications, designed a native iOS fitness product, built supporting PHP REST APIs, and worked across product, HR, sales, and support stakeholders.
Returned to Smart Commerce once the Geoligence venture concluded, and was promoted from Senior Software Engineer to Project Manager. Led end-to-end delivery for the Mission Happiness platform across Aditya Birla Group businesses, spanning requirements, databases, Drupal/PHP services, native iOS applications, schedules, resources, and team guidance.
A product venture opened by Smart Commerce's own founder; trusted as the iOS developer from the start to design and develop the HiStreet Objective-C application using Core Location and Core Data. Moved back to Smart Commerce once the venture concluded.
Joined Smart Commerce as a Senior Software Engineer, before being trusted to help launch Geoligence—a new product venture from the same founder.
APPLIED AI · EMERGING PRACTICE
I am exploring how Applied AI can make end-to-end systems more intelligent, diagnosable, adaptable, and dependable—without presenting exploration as finished production impact.
WHERE THE CURRENT GOES NEXT
Mobile depth. Platform judgment. An end-to-end view. Applied AI with engineering discipline.
